In this installation, people throw and put a brick in the basket. This system looks like a game of Tama-ire, which is a Japanese traditional sport similar to basketball. After these bricks are collected, people can take a shower of bricks. Bricks are not a traditional building material in Japan, but symbolize cultural imports from Europe during the Meiji Restoration. Today, many homes use imitation-brick plating to decorate the exterior walls as a way of imitating Western styles. This work could be understood as an ironic statement regarding the Japanese penchant for showering in fake bricks.
